![]() ![]() They would go away for a day or two or three, but then start up again and last for several days. The last time instead of coming back for a day or two they lasted for several weeks. Usually they come back for a day or two then go away for months. I've been getting mine for about 4 years on and off. I never really had anxiety before, now my life is filled with it. like what happen to my twin, only they don't know if he actually died from a spasm, but they do say the cause was severe heart disease. I've read case studies where coronary artery spasms can come and go, and even stop all together and never come back or stop for months or longer then come back and cause a heart attack or sudden death. I'm just not convinced the cause is benign. Could be tomorrow, could be next week or 6 months from now. This is of course a good thing, but keep in mind I had these pains two and a half years ago really bad for about three days, and a few times since then (but not as bad or as many) so they are bound to come back. It's simply not that kind of pain.Īll this being said I have not had any pain since yesterday around 2:00 in the afternoon, it's now 4:00 the next day so almost 24 hours. I'm 95% sure the pain has nothing to do with gastro. ![]() She brushed it off and said I need to see a Gastroenterologist and gave me a prescription for TUMS and Famotidine, lol. long before my brother passed away when I had no stress in my life. I told her I had the same pains two and half years ago. My episodes are so fast I don't have time to test this one.Īt first the cardiologist said my pains were probably "anxiety" (they aren't). Pain may feel worse when you breathe in deeply or when you move. Pain usually lasts 30 seconds to 3 minutes (mine lasts about 3 seconds). Usually happens to children and teens (I'm 53 years old). Pain on the left side of chest (mine is right in the middle for sure). I've looked into Precordial Catch Syndrome but the symptoms are a little different. I can't however find any examples of such fleeting chest pain being associated with cardiac issues whereby symptoms only last for a few seconds at a time. I was close to going to the ER again today, but figured I feel fine otherwise, I'm certain I'm not having a heart attack, but have this deep-seated fear that perhaps these pains are a precursor to one. Very intense and because these pains come out of the blue you can't brace yourself, so when it happens I instinctively grab my chest and groan as if I'm going to die! Then the pain is gone, just a few seconds.įamily History: Sadly my twin brother died a year ago, he suffered Sudden Cardiac Death due to severe (un-diagnosed) heart disease per the autopsy. Today however, it's happened about 20 times since I woke up. Since then I've experienced the same symptom maybe a a couple dozen times, but so infrequently I haven't been too concerned. ![]() Had tons of tests, everything came back normal and the cardiologist on duty told me he was 98% sure it was not my heart. Two and a half years ago went to the ER for intense, but fleeting, stabbing/squeezing/shock-like chest pains which literately only lasted two-five seconds at a time, but would come out of nowhere a few dozen times a day.
